We all relish the divine kadah prashad; but I'm sure at one point or the other, most of us must have thought that what actually is the origin of this blessed food ?
When was the first kadah prashad in Sikh history made ? What is it's significance ?
You may go to any religious place, you may/may not get some ceremonial sacred food. But even within the same faith, different centers adhering to the same spiritual discipline will offer you varied types of dishes. There is no hard and fast rule that a certain dish must always be there. But with Gurdwaras, the case is different; no matter which Gurdwara you may visit in the world, you are bound to get Kadah Prasad. And it is made with the same ingredients everywhere, nothing less, nothing more and no special customizations too. So, how did this practice start ? Was it our Gurus who started this ? Or was it prescribed as part of the Rehat Maryada ?
Well, there is an interesting story behind this. Watch the video to know more !
