Prayer is not just in our words. It springs from our heart and it takes form in our actions.
Seva is a form of prayer for others. Giving is a form of prayer for others.
Everyday, in every moment, we are given the gift and opportunity to serve, give and pray. Regardless of what the situation may hold, regardless of the way thoughts may crash around in our heads, regardless of the other person, regardless of anything – we can be there for others. We give everything in a place of love and nothing in a place of fear. And, in the place of love, we give and everything comes back to us: The prayers, the sweetness, the peace of mind, the wealth, and the blessings.
If the Guru tells me to give, then the Guru will surely provide the means. I will not waste time wondering how this bill or that bill will be paid, I will not question how I will get by. I will simply envelop myself in the Guru's gentle, loving and abundant arms and allow myself to be taken care of. |
