What is karma? Guruka Singh describes how people think about karma in a linear way.

People will attribute good and bad things that happen to them because they have good or bad karma. People think that they have bad karma, so they need to do good things to earn good karma.

Rather than thinking about good karma and bad karma, the questions is, are you caught in karma? Or are you able to break the bonds of that past? Clearing your karmas, means that you see the effect of your thoughts and deeds, and you act spontaneously instead of from your compulsions.

There are places like the Harimandir Sahib that have a high energy that helps you find that presence, but ultimately it is something you find within. Being aware of the things that trap your mind into it's negative patterns helps you be present. Be aware of your past but don't let it affect what you are doing now. Your bonds can be broken in an instant.
