Nov 9, 2019, Flower Mound, Texas: All faith traditions gathered to do prayers and do a Unity Walk together to celebrate the 550th Birth Anniversary of the founder of Sikh faith Guru Nanak.
Clergy and faith representatives from Hindu, Christian, Islam, Jain, Zoroastrian, Jewish, Buddhist, Baha'i and Urantia Book traditions participated in this event, along with people of different racial and cultural backgrounds.
Flower Mound Police Chief Any Kancel was the guest of honor. Also representatives of Susan G Komen (Brest Cancer fund raising organization) kicked off the Unity Walk and the participants raised $2500 for this cause.
It was a beautiful sunny day and everyone enjoyed the langar provided by Maharaja Restaurant of Plano, Texas.
This effort was lead by Gurdwara Nishkam Seva of Irving, Texas but sangat from other local Gurdwara joined this joyous celebration of around 400 people.
Prominent interfaith organizations Faith Forward Dallas and Interfaith Council of Thanksgiving Foundation, Dallas were co-sponsors of this event.
