The Fabulous Exhibit Features Over 20 Faith And Spiritual Traditions Including The Sikh Faith
The 67th annual Talbot Street Art Fair, one of the oldest and largest outdoor Art Fairs in the USA, favored by the two days of pleasant Indiana weather drew an enthusiastic multi-generational and multicultural crowd of art patrons and many friends over the weekend (June 17th-June 18th).
We saw a brilliant conductor with a refreshing voice calling us to a prayerful reflection, connecting and advancing our energies toward peacefully changing the cultural landscape, engaging, "forgiving to unburden but not forgetting" and being robust, responsible, and trusted partners in advancing the solemn commitments and promise of our democracy that must deliver justice and equality, and fairly benefit all Americans without divisions and distinction.
The Annual Indiana-India Gala is fast emerging as a nationally recognized and internationally known Asian Indian-Hoosier event; it is a signature celebration of the Indiana India Business Council (IIBC). The IIBC is led by a very dedicated and visionary leader Dr. Raju Chinthala - Founder and President Dr. Raju Chinthala, and a distinguished Board of Directors, and supported by a number of Indiana and India leaders and several philanthropic friends from across a wide spectrum of cultural groups, business entrepreneurs, educational organizations, political leaders, and individual friends and benefactors.
Being a recipient of so many special honors, awards, and recognition for my artwork, advocacy for the historic architecture, preservation and support of the arts and cultures, equality and dignity of all Hoosiers making Indiana their home, and sharing the good news about Indiana through my drawings, writings, commentaries and public speaking, and community engagements, I join all of you in a joyous shout: "Ain't God Good to Indiana."
It is heartwarming to witness someone from another culture would undertake and pay a brilliant tribute to the Sikh devotion chant and do an amazing rendition in her rich and reverberating voice respecting the styles and rhythms of established tradition, and with Indian instrumental music and several Sikh hallowed places as the backdrop.
This was an affirmation of the Sikh commandments that all humanity is One Race, One Brotherhood; we are all Children of One God who is the Father and Mother of all sentient beings; and that he has infused the same Divine Light in all; and no one is outside the circle of God's Love and Benevolence.
KP Singh, Interfaith leader, and Kenyon Jackson, Arsenal Technical High School Scholar had the honor of Unveiling of the new Headstone. After all the gathered guests had solemnly placed flowers at the site, the traditional Benediction followed. This event was organized by several organizations.
It was a great honor to be invited to deliver a Keynote Speech and to be a part of a farsighted brilliant Inspirational Banner Project to inspire and empower young minds that was unveiled at Franklin Central High School in Indiana on Monday
I knew that the larger Hoosier community and leaders that encouraged and created this environment for us to mainstream and pioneer our commitments, our talents and culture are an important reason as to where we are as a City, State, and Hoosier family, and together we are moving forward to get where we feel at home and proudly serve our Nation.
