I have 3 children. 4, 11, 13. We are bringing them up to be very musical. The 11 and 13 olds are both learning piano, and they're learning sarangi as well.
We have set a rule that they have to learn an Indian instrument. They also have to learn a classical western instrument. I think music is really important for a family. It's a system of learning that helps you in many ways. I believe it helps you in your education and intellectual ability. I also believe that it has a healing power, and gives you a framework for your beliefs and morals. I think its really important for children to learn music, and to do so at an early age. If you do it at an early age, they'll grow up and find their own way.
