Shanti Kaur Khalsa talks about the philosophy of gender equality in Sikhism and the deep tradition of female leadership in the Guru's time. However, over time, other groups became in charge of the Sri Harimandir Sahib (Golden Temple) and started traditions of excluding women from participating in certain things like singing Kirtan. These traditions are bound to fade away and the true Sikh practice of equality is destined to return to the Panth. Shanti encourages women to take up leadership roles in their Gurdwaras.
