Content Writer (Temporary Contract, Full-time, Remote)
SikhNet is searching for a freelance writer who is familiar with the global Gurbani Kirtan music industry for a six to eight week contract.
This full time , temporary contract position will create original SEO-savvy marketing copy for the various artists, albums and assets held in SikhNet’s Gurbani Media Center catalog.
The successful candidate will have their own computer and access to the Internet, strong writing skills in English, subject-matter expertise, and familiarity with Google apps. The candidate will work as part of SikhNet’s global, virtual team and will report to the GMC Director. The project will be advised by the Chief Analytics Officer.
A strong work ethic, and the ability to self-manage and meet deadlines is a must. Prior experience with digital marketing work is a plus.
This position will be structured as a pay-by-the-hour contract, with per-word parameters for each piece written.

Requirements
- Strong English writing skills.
- Subject-area expertise in the Gurbani Kirtan music industry. Knowledge of Gurbani artists/ragis from the 1970’s - 1980’s is a big plus.
- Past work experience working as a Freelance Writer will be an added advantage.
- Proven records of published work will be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with Google Apps.
- Ability to express effectively in the English language.
