Rafiabad is located to the north of Baramulla about 12 kms from district headquarters. It is surrounded by the natural beauty of small mountain peaks, Streams and forests. Bosian, Viji top, Gabawar, Moong deji, Kokarwan, Saterwan, Khahmoh, Gurdwara Tapiana Sahib etc are natural sites of tourist attractions. There are about 77 villages in Rafiabad. Sikhs being indigenous inhabitants reside in 17 villages namely Tangamulla, Chatusa, Fagipora, Hachipura, Satrina, Maadna, Hardu Chanam, Charligund, Yarabugh, Shalkote, Huma Dub, Panzala, Gundbal, Patusa, Wanpora, Bhatpora and Check Shatloo.
SHALKOTE
Shalkote village is beautifully encircled by dense forests of Gabawar - Bosian and hilly tracts. Village is about 25 kms from district headquarters Baramulla.
Total Sikh house holders are about 30, having approximately Population 175. An historic Splendour Gurdwara Tapiana Sahib, Sant Bhai Rocha Singh of Nangali Sahib Poonch caches from a distance.
GURDWARA TAPIANA SAHIB, SHALKOTE
This Shrine, built on the top of a small mound, near the village Shalkote, Kamraz (Kashmir). It is situated 25 kms in a dense forest. Here Sant Rocha singh (1688-1803 CE) mediated nearly 12 years or 12 months (needs further research), hence the name Tapiana Sahib.
According to local tradition a lion and a cow always remained at the service of Sant ji. This incident was noticed by Gujars of Muslim community several times. Sant Rocha Singh was born in village Kosian (Distt. Hazara) and had a glimpse of Guru Gobind Singh Ji in Malwa region (After December 1705). He took 'Khande di-Pahul' from the hands of Guru Ji. Guru Sahib instructed him to preach Sikhism to the hills of Kashmir. Bhai Mela Singh laid the foundation stone of this Gurdwara in Shalkote. During Sikh rule three villages Viz Shalkote, Balhama and Braman were given Jagir to this Gurdwara. Sant Rocha Singh kept 300-400 well armed Sikhs always with him. He fought many Skirmishes with enemies, who attacked them without any reason. After the implementation of Gurdwara Act in 1975-76. Mahant Bachhtar Singh handed over this Gurdwara to Jammu Kashmir Gurdwara Parbandhak Board. On the site of the old Gurdwara, a new Gurdwara was raised in 1998 under the supervision of Baba Harbans Singh of Kar Sewa Delhi. Above the Sanctum is a domed Pinnacle on top. The large marble-floored divan hall is 66x61 feet. The pinus tree trunk is still preserved on one side of the hall. Separate Langer halls and rooms for pilgrims were constructed recently.
HUMADUBH
Humadub is a beautiful village situated on a mound in the footsteps of a dense forest at a distance of 22 kms from the district headquarters Baramulla. Total Sikh house holders are about 17 having approximately population 77.
GUNDBAL
Gundbal is 21 kms from the district headquarters Baramulla. Village is located on a small mound on the site of a natural brook. Sikh families are about 9, having a total population of approximately 50.
PANZALA
Panzala village is located on the left side of mighty Viji rivulet and is 20 kms from the district headquarters Baramulla.Total Sikh families are 24, having population approximately 120.
PATUSA
Patusa village is situated on the left side of the rivulet Viji. Village is 18 kms from the district headquarters Baramulla. Total Sikh Population is about 35, having 8 Sikh house holders.
WANPORA
Village Wanpora is located on both sides of the rivulet Viji.Total Sikh families are 15, having population approximately 63. Village is 16 kms from the district headquarters Baramulla.
BHATPORA
Bhatpora is located on the left side of rivulet Viji.The village is on a steep slope bestowed with natural scenery with small forest trees. Total Sikh families are about 23, having a population approximately 150. Village is 15 kms away from the district headquarters Baramulla.
CHECK-SHATLOO
This village is located on both sides of the natural stream. Village is 17 kms from the district headquarters Baramulla. Total Sikh families are 25, having Sikh population approximately 156.
CHARLIGUND
This village is about 15 kms from the district headquarters Baramulla. Total Sikh house holders are 47, having a population approximately 224.
YARABUGH
Yarabugh is adjacent to Charligund ,at a distance of 15 kms from the district headquarters Baramulla. Total Sikh families are about 23, having a population of approximately 270.
TANGAMULLA
Tangamulla is a beautiful village at the bottom of dense forests on a high steep. It’s about 34 kms from the district headquarters Baramulla. Total Sikh house holders are 49 with a population approximately 154 km.
CHATUSA
Chatusa is another village nearest Tangamulla at a distance of 32 kms from the district headquarters Baramulla. Total Sikh families are 7, having a population approximately 42.
FAGIPORA
This village is 26 kms from the district headquarters, with beautiful forests. Total Sikh families are 7 with a population approximately 25.
HACHIPURA
Hachipura village is located parallel to Fagipora and 25 kms from the district headquarters Baramulla. Total Sikh house holders are 9, having 34 population approximately. This is the only village without Gurdwara Sahib.
HARDU CHANAM
Hardu chanam village is at plains, 23 kms from the district headquarters Baramulla. Total Sikh families are 11, with a population approximately 54.
SATARNA
Satarna village is situated on a hilly area covered with forest trees. This village is beautified with natural Brooks. Before 1947, a well-known Khalsa Middle school was functioning, but Kabali tribesmen put it into ashes. Total Sikh families are 20, having a population approximately 69. Village is 28 kms from the district headquarters Baramulla. Gurdwara Shaheedi Marg (1947) is located in this village, from where Shaheedi Jatha (kafla) left for Srinagar via Bulgam Chura.
MAANDNA
This village is situated near the forest periphery, near the natural stream. Total Sikh families are about 5, having a population of 22. Village is 27 kms from the district headquarters Baramulla.
