Guru Nanak soon after his ablution from the river in Sultanpur Lodhi,  as stated (in janam sakhi), got the divine power (Such Khand). Nanak appeared to have received robe of honour from GOD.

Nanak made his mission explicitly clear to spread the message of truthfulness,  equality, and to dispel baseless rituals & blind faith from the minds of people. He imbibed in himself the basic theology of Sikhism as well propagated his teaching for the benefit of mankind. Mool Mantra is thus, the primary essence of Sikhism. He made the beginning of his spiritual journey by adhering on the basis philosophy of ONENESS and propagated this as a fundamental base of his teaching/ preaching.

Sat Naam-Truth is HIS name.  TRUTH IS A TIMELESS LORD. [Adding any other dimensions in interpreting EK-ONKAR may distort the spirit of oneness]. Other dimensions like Nirbhov, Nirvar,  Akal Murat, Ajuni Sai Bhung  of Mool Mantra signifies the true virtues of GOD.

KARTA PURAKH. He is the self creator. God is dimensionless and cannot be accounted far. He has never adopted human shape or of any other living being. Nirvar doesn’t categorise HIM to be revengeful.

Thus, Nanak’s Philosophy (Sikhism) is an integral and integrated component embodied in Mool Mantra.

The relevance of Mool Mantra can be understood for its being the  opening statement of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and also repeated several  times in SGGS.
Nanak disowned to be called as GOD or PROPHET. He preferred himself to called as servant of GOD. All other 9 Gurus followed the same path set by Nanak. Factually Nanak jyot was transferred from one Guru to other. The following statement of Guru Gobind Singh amply testify for his being a  humble servant of GOD.

‘Those who call me GOD will fall deep into pit of hell. Regard me as one of HIS slave and have no doubts whatever about it. I am a servant of the Supreme being; and have come to behold the wonderful drama of life.

Thus, it is imperative for every Sikh to follow the path well documented in Mool Mantra/ Japji Sahib), and carried forward from  Nanak-1 to Nanak-10 to be a true disciple Waheguru.
