About the book
Starting from the birth of the first guru, Guru Nanak, the book charts the lives of the ten Gurus. Through carefully curated stories, the book highlights the egalitarian ideals and compassionate worldview that have come to define the faith, and provides the historical context for the foundational principles which guided Sikhs during the era of each Guru. Mr. Singh has deliberately approached this retelling as a storyteller in an attempt to make the work accessible and engaging. This is the first major work on Sikhism that Penguin has published in decades and they see it as a major addition to the body of literature on Sikhism.
