Wahe Guru ji ka Khalsa, Wahe Guru ji ki Fateh!
The mass shooting at the FedEx facility in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 15, 2021, has left us bereft, once again causing us to remember the tragic legacy of gun violence as we mourn the deaths of another four Sikhs killed in this most recent event. Although it is unclear at this moment whether this is a hate crime, the truth that this facility was a center of employment for many Sikhs in the area gives us pause.
We ask you all to remember in prayer those killed on April 15th.

The Sikh identity is one founded in an egalitarian view of the world. Equality among all people, freedom of religion, social justice, and the use of force only in self-defense. These humane and universal values have made Sikhs good friends, good neighbors, and contributing members of society in every country in which they live. We know that the Sikhs killed in Indianapolis on Thursday were beloved by all who knew them. And we pray that the memory of their faith and good deeds will comfort the hearts of those they leave behind.
