When a hurricane hits, Sikhs jump into action and help the victims with supplies as they do with those suffering in war torn countries. When the pandemic upset the world, Sikhs exert themselves by feeding those with food insecurity.

Now Sikhs in Dubai are helping in a different manner: providing covid vaccines.

The famous Dubai Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar's chairman Surender Singh Kandhari has been quoted as saying, “We found a lot of people who wanted to take the vaccine but faced difficulty.”

As reported by The National News:

Guru Nanak Darbar in Jebel Ali hosted an event to vaccinate 4,500 adults of various nationalities and religions from Saturday to Monday... "People of 35 nationalities will be vaccinated as part of the drive. We kept it open to anyone, any age and any nationality. We are all one. We are all human beings. We have to respect each other and humanity. We announced it on Thursday morning, and by Thursday evening we already had 6,000 people applying to get the vaccine registration done. It’s not available everywhere and people are having great difficulty, so they are very blessed to come to the temple and get a vaccine done. Everyone who is vaccinated as part of the event was asked to return in 31 days to receive their second dose." Mr. Kandhari said.

In these times of turmoil and change it is our prayer that souls find refuge in the warm refuge of Guru's home. May the langar, the aid, and the charity continue to be served with the vibration of Guru's Naam. May it touch humanity and uplift us all.
