Dedicated to 551st prakash purab of Guru Nanak Sahib, Nad Music Institute is pleased to share the album “Rāgs of Guru Nanak Sahib”. The project was led by Bhai Iqbal Singh (brother of Bhai Dilbagh Singh and Bhai Gulbagh Singh). The album includes twenty Rāgs of Guru Nanak Sahib in the Rababi tradition. The undertaking of this massive project was no small feat as Bhai Iqbal Singh enlisted knowledge from seven Ragis across Punjab who are practicing traditional kirtan.

After 18 months of hard work, the recordings of twenty Rags of Guru Nanak Sahib, all sung in the prescribed Rags of Guru Granth Sahib, were completed. Many individuals and institutes across the world supported this task, one of which included Nad Music Institute (USA). It is through the support of Nad Music Institute that these recordings are available online for you to enjoy. The project hopes to revive, protect and grow a dying Rababi tradition, while also providing avenues of easy listening access to the masses.
According to Manmeet Singh (Filmmaker and Musician from Maryland, USA) "Accompanied with a Rabab, Dilruba, Jori and other instruments of the parampara, these ragis sing an ancient music that creates a nostalgia of sounds heard in Darbar Sahib generations ago and also inspire future ragis to further this music both in the traditional direction and also explore the non-traditional.”
