And now the Movie

Arthurian myth and Sikh legend collide in a monochrome portrait of the Nihang warriors of India

A new film by director Erik Morales, produced by Canada—an international duo of directors and a creative production company based in Barcelona and London—zooms in on the Sikh order of Nihang, an ancient armed warrior order known as the Akalis, or, Immortals.

“The film reflects on the past and future of the mystery-shrouded order”

ErikBio (132K)Known for his filmic portraits that draw out the magic of cultural stories from around the globe, here the director points his monochrome lens on a group of wandering Nihang, as they traverse the landscape of northern India on horseback. Recalling the English myth of King Arthur, the film reflects on the past and future of the mystery-shrouded order in the context of its historic homeland.
