By Kamalpreet Kaur Sabrah, a 17 year old Sikh from Hong Kong. She expresses her struggle to find balance and fit in as a young Sikh in today's world.

As we all are aware-life can be tough, especially when you are different and stand out from the crowd as a Sikh teenager. High expectations, pressure, and the never-ending tug at your heart that you may not be good enough is the typical deal for all teens. Besides we, as Sikh teenagers, are put our society's wrath for being 'a rebel' just because we don't dress as they want us to or we don't behave according to what is seen as 'moral'. This is the journey of a girl who's all lost in this world and eventually finds comfort in the guru's word....

That's all there is…
That's all there was,
And that is all there Ever will be…

But no man shall learn
"My ending will be different" he tells himself.
Galloping through life, they
think will be cherry pie.

She eventually did!

Athena and Apollo
Her parents palaces of wishful hopes.

With juvenility coupled wih Aphrodite's curse,
Residence in Fantasy's realms...

People, feelings, pushes
Ear-splitting venomous hisses
In Time shattering all her youthful
wishes.

Her Heart shattered with booming soundlessness,
Blood trickling from an eye, the other was black
Voiceless the wail of the suppressed.

This is it...One leap
And she will topple off the edge.

within a voice
Barely audible,
LIVE! PURPOSE!
Emaculate the 'word'...
Her anchor, the creator of all beings...

An anchor reckoned.
And into the world she was beckoned.
To thrive and to spread
