Gursev Singh is a 31 year old Risk Manager, proud father an Financial Dgblad (newspaper) columnist "My favorite shabd (Sikh sacred music) is 'How can a fish live without water?' Gursev chose this music because it is in poetry and it has a religious message. He lives together with his wife Kamalpreet and his daughter Taranjot. This is his grandfather visiting them today. Kamalpreet is studying medicine (in the Netherlands) and she is currently working as a trainee Doctor. However, she was already working as a Doctor back in India. They got married in India 5 years ago. Sikhs wear turbans to look after their hair. According to their faith Sikhs are not allowed to cut/remove their hair. Gursev and Kalampreet perform 5 prayers in the morning and 2 in the evening. Gursev very much loves his wife Kamalpreet but he loves God the most. They enjoy going to the gym and playing squash. Taranjot checks the stock of plastic bags while her parents are praying. The population of Sikhs in the Netherlands is approx. 10,000. Gursev has written a book in Dutch about the Sikhs. It took him 3 years to complete this book and he is very proud of it. His biggest wish is that, "my family always remains happy". |
