amrit_ceremony (25K)Tue, Apr 8, 2014: This Saturday Waheguru Ji blessed with me amrit di daat. Some people said that it is special that someone at the young age of 22 take amrit. However, as I see back, I think I used a lot of time thinking of amrit, but never having the courage to take that step. That made me think, what actually helped me take this step this Saturday? I always thought I needed more time to prepare myself. Are you a person who wants to be blessed with amrit di daat? What stops you from doing it now? Think about it. If you want to take it one day, you actually need to find out your obstacles. If you cannot find your obstacles, how can you overcome them? Or consciously accept them?

I came to the conclusion that the reason I didn’t take the step earlier, was FEAR. Fear of what others will think. How others will react. Because I knew that by taking amrit, I would stand out. Stand out from the crowd, from my fellow students, even from a lot of people from my own community. Will my appearance be accepted? Will I get married with this appearance? Will I get a job with this appearance? Then I started to ask myself more questions. What do I want in life? Will this fear of others stop me from fulfilling my dreams? Am I that weak? I realized that no. I wanted to dedicate my life to Guruji. I wanted to take this step. So I accepted myself, because by accepting yourself, it is much easier for you to change your life.

Think about it. In the end it is only you and God. No human being will judge your life in the end.

Only you will judge your life when you are lying on the deathbed.

So do the things you know you will appreciate to look back at when you are lying there ready to die. Do the deeds that impress your own divine inner self, Waheguruji, and stop living to impress others.

I am not saying that I did the right thing. Right, wrong, good and bad are all illusions. Something which is right for you, might not be right for someone else. Moreover, who are we to judge who is right and who is wrong? Waheguru Ji is the judge. The only thing I am encouraging you to do, is reflect upon why you are not fulfilling your dreams, what your obstacles are to fulfill your dreams right now!

May you get the courage to conquer your fears and fulfill your dreams.

Sarbat da bhallaa!
