Pushpinder Singh Puri was born in Loralai, Baluchistan and migrated to the Republic of India after the partition of the British India. His early education was in the various states of India. He completed his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Panjab University, Chandigarh and earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Ottawa University, Canada. He migrated to the United States and worked for the chemical industry for over 40 years.
