In a significant endeavor to instill values and impart knowledge, the Sant Khushal Singh Gurmat Vidyalaya and Khoj Kendra in Marh Bagh, Jammu, played host to a three-day Gurmat camp from January 5th to 7th. This educational initiative, operating under the guidance of Sant Tejwant Singh, was meticulously organized by the Vidyalaya's management committee and efficiently coordinated by Parcharak S. Kulwant Singh.
The camp witnessed active participation from more than 100 students, ranging from class 2 to class 10, hailing from SGSD School Domana and various other educational institutions. Renowned speakers, including S. Prithi Singh, S. Harmohinder Singh, and S. Paramjit Singh from the Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle in Ludhiana, lent their expertise to provide comprehensive insights into Gurmat life and the teachings of Guru Sahibans. The focal point of the camp was to imbue students with a foundational understanding of Sikhism's principles, elucidating the essential events in Sikh history. The overarching goal was to guide these young minds towards bright future careers while instilling virtuous moral values and fostering a commitment to serving humanity.
The camp's success owes much to the positive interaction between the students and the distinguished speakers. Notable contributors to the event's triumph included S. Charanjit Singh Khalsa, Ex MLC, S. JP Singh, Retd. IGP, S. Manjit Singh, S. Jagjit Singh, S. KS Mehta, Jatinder Singh Lucky, and numerous supportive parents.
During the proceedings, a noteworthy book authored by S. Jasbir Singh Sarna, a renowned writer and historian, was unveiled by Sant Tejwant Singh and other dignitaries. A folder “Chaar Sahibzaade” also distributed by the author among campers. The final session of the camp culminated in the distribution of certificates to all participants, with medals being presented to winners in various categories. The participants engaged in a comprehensive review session facilitated by the esteemed speakers, who were subsequently honored by Sant Ji amidst resounding slogans of "Bole So Nihal" echoing from the enthusiastic children. The camp's impact on fostering a deeper understanding of Gurmat principles and Sikh heritage among the youth underscores its significance in shaping future generations.
