ROSIE’S TEARS OF JOY
A few snippets from our trip to Cessnock yesterday where various Sikh organisations namely Care One Care All Group (COCAG), T4 - Turbans for Australia and Harman Foundation once again came together to prepare and distribute Christmas Hampers to 261 homeless in Cessnock.
The heartfelt response from Rosie of Soups On operating from The Vines Church was on another level. She and her other friends sometimes had no words to express their emotions as when we got there, their current supplies were so diminished.
The scene reminded of the incident when Guru Nanak spent all his Rs 20 to feed for the hungry sadhus, “start of Langar concept” over 500 years ago. It absolutely made our day to see what a difference our collective help will make to the 261 homeless people living there.
Collectively, we donated groceries worth $3000 and spent about 200 volunteer hours. Every effort and contribution from everyone paid tribute to the sacrifices of Sahibzade for the humanity.
