Thankfully, Sikhs are inspirational people who put the community's needs before their own and seek to alleviate the burden facing many today. Sikh organisations and individuals are not only providing essential services in a difficult time, but also inspiring many others to do the same.

How Canadian Sikhs Struggled Out of the Fringes and Into the Mainstream
We are inspired by a very special woman in Sikh history, and we also feel she represents us a lot since the majority of us are women. I’m talking about Mata Khivi Ji or Bibi Khivi, wife of Guru Angad Dev Ji, second Guru of the Sikh religion.
“As Sikh Americans, it’s important for us to build relationships with our elected officials so that we can increase Sikh awareness and community power,” said Kent City Councilmember Satwinder Kaur. “To be formally recognized by our state’s legislature is meaningful to Sikhs who have made Washington our home.”
