A six-year-old was given the assignment to write about how his family celebrates their holidays in December. He chose the topic Shahadat of Sahibzade, which depicted the martyrdom of the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. When asked why he chose this topic, the child smiled and said,

International Turban Day, observed annually on April 13th since 2004, is an occasion that celebrates Sikh Identity. The event began to raise awareness about the distinct appearance of Sikhs who love and respect principles of faith which obligate keeping hair uncut and covered with a turban.
With the possibility of large-scale Vaisakhi celebrations being cancelled this year, communities need to prepare themselves to take a slightly different approach to festivities.
