Dear Khalsa ji,
I hope you and your family are in high spirits (chardi-kala) as we near the end of 2013.
I’m excited that my son Narayan Singh is coming home this weekend during the winter break of his 5th year of boarding school in Amritsar. It's always a special time for us when we have our whole family together.
Just as Narayan Singh is part of my family, you are part of the SikhNet family :)
As I sit here writing this message, I remember a time 18 years ago when I was just a "kid out of high school", having completed 10 years of boarding school in India. That was when I started a small website which was later to be called "SikhNet". The simple motivation for this "web page" was to create a place to help Sikh youth connect, learn and inspire each other.
SikhNet has grown to become so much more than that original idea, and it serves a much wider purpose than I had ever imagined. I feel like Guruji is steering the "SikhNet Boat", and we are all just here to play our part, to do what needs to be done to serve others.
This year has been a time of big change for myself and my family, and SikhNet has been no exception. Here at SikhNet we recognized that we needed to take a fresh look at who SikhNet serves and how to effectively grow to better serve the increasing needs of the Sikh community. In 2014 we will need your input and help in expanding the SikhNet website.
SikhNet is one of the oldest and largest Sikh websites online serving over 400,000 people every month. We're a non-profit organization, but we still have costs like any top website: servers, rent, programs and staff to make these services possible.
SikhNet serves Sikhs around the world every day. But this Seva only happens with your financial support. I could really use your help right now to maintain and grow SikhNet in 2014.
I hope you will consider giving to SikhNet today, and joining in this seva by going to

I am deeply grateful to all those who have supported SikhNet during its evolution serving the Guru’s mission during the past 18 years.
Thank you! Wishing you Guru's blessings for a prosperous and happy new year.
