Supreet Singh Manchanda is a Sikh executive from Texas and Silicon Valley. He currently serves as chairman of the board for SikhNet. Recently the 1984 Living History Project interviewed him. Below are his final thoughts in the interview.

30 years have gone by, and our emotions have become less raw. The world has changed. As Sikhs, it's important for us that we starting thinking of not just India, but of the whole globe as a place where we live. Where borders are secondary, where commerce helps us. I work with a lot of different people, and when I talk about Sikhs, I don't think of Punjabi Sikhs. I think of Brazilian Sikhs, Italian Sikhs, Russian Sikhs. I think of Sikhs from Chile, and China. Start thinking about a global nation. Think forward 500 years from now and ask yourself the fundamental question: Who do we want to be? If we are there as a Sikh nation, it will not be of one color, or one area, or one language. It's going to be global, with many colors, many languages, and many beliefs, but with one common theme held together with the fabric of Sikhi. That is what I want us to think of. In order to do that we have to heal from 1984. We are a resilient, amazing people, should we start deciding that "I'm not going to be the victim, I'm going to become the victor."
